Buzz Casino is the operator's entry into the online casino market.

UK.- The new online casino brand Buzz Casino has been introduced by the British bingo operator Buzz Bingo. It represents a comeback for what was formerly Gala Bingo.

Buzzcasino.com provides table games, live casino, and slot machines. The website was created jointly with tech partner Playtech and internally designed.

"Casino is an important part of our product mix, and while bingo is still at the core of our business, our players love to experience new content and spend their free time playing in different ways," said Dave Evans, Buzz Group's director of digital operations.

Head of product management Laura Craddock said: “It’s very exciting to be bringing a new casino product to market, especially one that brings all the fun of Buzz Bingo to the casino world, whilst adopting different principles in its design.

“Inspiration from the streaming video world has helped make content the focus of the UI, making it easy for players to find the games they love, in a fun and trusted environment they know they’ll get from a Buzz venue.”

The action comes after the live bingo streaming service for Buzz Bingo was introduced in September 2022. In 2021, Caledonia Investments sold Buzz Group to Intermediate Capital Group, who now owns it. The former Gala Bingo locations, which were rebranded as Buzz Bingo in 2018, make up its land-based operations. Ladbrokes (now a part of Entain) purchased Gala's online operations, including its online casino, in 2015.

Buzz Bingo revealed in March that it intended to close nine of its 91 physical bingo halls. It claims that the action is required to control rising costs and a decline in business. There may be 151 affected employees out of the 2,456 total, or 6.1% of the workforce.

The business claimed that because of altered consumer behavior, foot traffic had not reached pre-pandemic levels. Meanwhile, the nine clubs were no longer financially viable due to the effects of inflation and rising operational and energy costs.
